Yoga and Shamanic Journeying

The Living Project wants you to have a travel experience that stretches your soul. For us, it’s not enough to just take you on an typical yoga vacation; our intention is that you have an experience that opens you to new experiences, possibilities and personal growth.

In addition to daily open-level Vinyasa classes with Domenic, on this retreat Jonathan will instruct you in Shamanic Journeying.

Shamanic Journeying is an ancient meditative practice designed to open you to the ‘hidden realms’ of Spirit and Nature. You will journey to the Upper and Lower worlds (the ‘places’ where spirits reside from a shamanic perspective) in order to meet spirit guides and power animals. You will learn to access the healing power within (and learn to share this healing with others) and to connect with invisible forces of the Island.

Shamanism is a path of direct revelation, and this retreat will take your spiritual life to new heights and connection.

We will also offer a transformational Breathwork Ceremony designed to heighten your consciousness and then end the retreat with a fire ceremony, empowering your new goals and aspirations.

You may also choose to do a private healing session with Jonathan ( for an additional fee. These arrangements can be made in Costa Rica

Costa Rica

All trails seem to lead to waterfalls, misty crater lakes or jungle-fringed, deserted beaches. Explored by horseback, foot, kayak or surfboard (Nosara is known for it’s unbelievable surfing) Costa Rica is a tropical choose-your-own-adventure land.

And then there are the people. Costa Ricans, or Ticos as they prefer to call themselves, are proud of their little slice of paradise, welcoming guests to sink into the easygoing rhythms of pura vida (the pure life) – every bit as much a catchy motto as it is an enduring mantra.

Rainforest hikes and brisk high-altitude trails, rushing white-water rapids and world-class surfing: Costa Rica offers a dizzying suite of outdoor adventures. They come in every shape and size – from the squeal-inducing rush of a canopy zip line to a sun-dazed afternoon at the beach.

National parks allow visitors to glimpse the seething life of the tropical rainforest, simmering volcanoes and cloud forests offer otherworldly vistas, and reliable surf breaks are suited to beginners and experts alike.

As the Eco and Adventure-Tourism capital of Central America, Costa Rica attracts travelers from around the world. With world-class infrastructure, visionary sustainability initiatives and no standing army, the country is a green, peaceful jewel.

Taking into account that more than a third of the land enjoys some form of environmental protection and there’s greater biodiversity here than in the USA and Europe combined, it’s a place that earns the superlatives.

Hunting for sport in Costa Rica is against the law, the first country every to impose a nationwide ban.

Wildlife abounds in Costa Rica as to seem almost cartoonish: keel-billed toucans ogle you from treetops and scarlet macaws raucously announce their flight paths. A keen eye will discern a sloth on a branch or the eyes and snout of a caiman breaking the surface of a mangrove swam.

Alert ears will catch rustling leaves signaling a troop of white-faced capuchins or the haunting call of a howler monkey. Blue morpho butterflies flit amid orchid-festooned trees, while colorful tropical fish, sharks, rays, dolphins and whales thrive offshore – all as if in a conservationist’s dream.

Nosara, Costa Rica is known as a ‘blue zone’; one of a few world destinations in the world that has been studied and proven to show that being there for any period of time seems to promote longevity and health.
